This test is recommended for individuals who have a history of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) as a young adult or a strong family history of ASCVD. High LDL cholesterol, triglycerides (TG), or lipoprotein (a) increases the risk of cardiovascular disease, especially for those with a history of ASCVD.

This panel measures levels of total cholesterol, triglycerides, high-density lipoprotein (HDL), low-density lipoprotein (LDL) (calculated), cholesterol/HDL ratio (calculated), non-HDL cholesterol (calculated), and lipoprotein(a) to better understand your health and your risk of a heart attack, heart disease, or stroke. 

Note: Fasting for 8-12 hours is required prior to administering this test.
